Students After the Funeral

"It took something tragic to make something great" was how Derek Laughlin (2004-05 CMS student) wrapped up the end of the day. Hugs of mourning and joy were everywhere as former students that grew close to Mr. Katz were brought back together one last time. Several of the former and what would have been current students of Mr. Katz met at Blue Mesa a Mexican restaurant to reminisce. The afternoon started with a toast in honor of Steven Katz.

In a well ordered fashion, starting at the top of the table, every person shared a memory of Mr. Katz. Several memories sparked happy emotions and we began to laugh and smile. I believe Mr. Katz have wanted us to be happy and we were.
